I don’t have any friends right now. Sometimes it’s lonely.
But trying to make friends, and then keeping them happy, often sounds like too much work.
So I stay where I am. That’s lonely, but it’s easy.
I know that’s not the whole story. The work isn’t only the effort. It’s also the fear of getting it wrong, of being too much, of having someone leave again.
I don’t have a fix for this. I’m not writing to tell you how to make friends.
If you’re lonely and tired of the work too, you’re not the only one. Wanting people and not having the energy for them can both be true at once.
Maybe the first step is small. One text. One hello. Or just not feeling bad about being where you are today.
If it’s bad right now, this page is for you, and you can call or text 988 any time.
If you just want someone to talk to, I’m here for that. Write to me.
I’ll send the next one. You can leave whenever you want.
