Hi. I’m Gerry. I live in Jacksonville, FL and I am

unsteady.

Why “unsteady”

I tried a lot of words for how it feels. Anxious. Depressed. Stressed. Off. None of them were quite it.

Unsteady was the one. Not falling. Not fine. Somewhere in between, trying to keep my footing.

In 2019 I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, Bipolar Type 2, CPTSD, and panic disorder. It has been a journey to get where I am today.

Why I made this

I used to feel so alone. Like no one could possibly understand what was going on inside my head.

I wanted a place that didn’t feel like a waiting room. No forms to qualify. No program to finish. Just somebody saying “yeah, I know that feeling” and meaning it.

What I’m not

I want to be really clear about this, because it matters.

  • I’m not a therapist. I have no license and no clinical training.
  • I’m not a clinic or an organization. It’s just me. No staff. No team.
  • I’m not giving advice. What I write is what’s true for me. It might not be true for you, and that’s okay.
  • I’m not a crisis line. I can’t always answer fast. If it’s bad right now, please call or text 988, or text HOME to 741741. They’re there all day and all night.

What I am

Someone who gets it. Someone who’s had the days where the floor feels tilted.

Someone who thinks you deserve a place to land where nobody’s trying to fix you or sell you anything.

If that’s what you needed today, I’m glad you’re here.
